We fell in love with Lake Garda a long time ago and got married in 2016 in Torri del Benaco at the Limonaia. We wanted to get out of the city, closer to the lake, and into Italy.
We found this house by chance and were immediately thrilled.
Renting out the two apartments makes it possible to fulfill the dream of emigrating sooner.
Our story
The dream of emigrating
The dream of one day emigrating to Italy began a few years ago.
We used to go to Lake Garda one to four times a year, spend our holidays there, and always dreamt of buying a small apartment here when we retire and looking out over the lake. But every year we became more aware that we didn't know how much time each of us had left and that there were certainly ways to make it happen sooner. So we started looking for suitable properties.
First, there was the question of whether my mother, who was single, wanted to come along, and since Italy was also "her" country, she wanted to
We quickly realized that two separate apartments, but located next to each other, weren't really financially feasible, neither on our preferred east side nor on the west side. Therefore, we went further "up" to Monte Baldo, where we found our house, which had not just two but five apartments, and we quickly came to the conclusion that this was exactly "our" house, and that we could then rent out at least two apartments as vacation rentals.
The house was in dire need of renovation—windows, walls, heating, everything was old—but we wanted the project. We sold our apartments in Germany and set everything in motion so we could emigrate as soon as possible. Of course, you can plan and organize a lot, but when you're also dependent on others, everything takes longer than expected.
Therefore, we have been here for a year now, but it is far from finished.
The windows and balcony doors are up to the latest standard, the kitchens and refrigerators are completely new, and we have also been able to replace a lot of furniture.
Now the time has come and our first apartment can officially open!
We are very pleased; many things are new, but some things still need to be renewed.
We hope you enjoy your time with us
